The MSA 200 is a lightweight and powerful battery-powered chainsaw that is designed for small maintenance jobs. It is fitted with a 14” guide bar and has with 20% more cutting performance than the MSA 160. It has been designed for versatile tasks such as pruning branches or cutting firewood on your property. It can also be used for processing wood and felling small trees of up to 25 cm in diameter on the worksite. Thanks to the 36 V lithium-ion battery, it’s perfect for work in noise sensitive areas too!
It’s easy and comfortable to use and an ergonomic control handle for greater control and comfort when used across different cutting angles. The trigger system allows for maximum control over the chain speed, and makes working across different materials, around shrubs or on wood working projects even easier. A transparent chain oil tank offers better visibility of oil levels. The quick chain tensioner allows the sprocket cover to be removed and the chain tensioned without the need for additional tools. Plus, the MSA 200 is fitted with a ¼” PM3 saw chain which provides a clean cut and impressive cutting performance.
The MSA 200 is recommend for use with the AP 300 S battery. Working time with the recommended AP 300 S battery is around 50 minutes.

With other brands of battery tools, the performance usually decreases during work as the battery discharges. This is not the case with STIHL cordless power tools with CONSTANT POWER. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your STIHL power tool works with consistently high power.
Thanks to STIHL Quick Chain Tensioning, you can tension your saw chain quickly and without tools, thanks to the adjusting wheel. Turning the adjusting wheel to the left releases tension on the saw chain, and turning the adjustment wheel to the right tensions the saw chain. The guide bar will be automatically secured when you tighten the sprocket cover.
With the transparent oil tank, you can easily and quickly check the fill level of the chain oil. This means that you always know when you need to add chain oil for efficient work over long periods.
The control lever with potentiometer function allows you to control the speed of your battery-powered chainsaw on an infinitely variable basis, and in this way easily control and adjust its performance as needed. On consumer chainsaws, the potentiometer function is integrated into the throttle lever.
The sturdy metal bumper spikes provide chainsaws with a hold on wood, so that you can guide your cuts safely and precisely.
Your STIHL chainsaw has an ergonomically shaped handle and a comfortable rear control handle with soft components. Thanks to this two-handed operation, you can work comfortably, effortlessly and safely in all positions.
Thanks to its compact design, low weight and high efficiency, the EC engine enables you to work in an energy efficient manner. This engine also has a long service life.
Thanks to the soft components on the control handle, your work tool sits comfortably in the hand and can be guided safely. The softgrip handle also improves your grip, especially when wet. The ergonomic lever also makes work easier, as there is no need to unlock the machine again while working, as long as one hand continuously remains on the rear handle.
The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splashwater from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.
