Grillo GF 3DF Sickle Bar

The Grillo GF3 is a perfectly balanced sickle bar; the engine and the PTO are positioned in such way to obtain the ideal ground clearance for the professional mowing even on slopes. The centre of gravity was designed to make the GF3 DF manoeuvrable and safe also under the most demanding working conditions. The diff-lock and the independent braking on each wheel ensures complete and easy manoeuvrability. . The standard cutter bar is “Tirol” 115 cm cutting width and crank action. It is appropriate for cutting all kinds of grass types and can be used in rustic areas, fruit orchards or grass used for animal feed. The crank mechanism was built using only top quality steel types and is equipped with greaser nipples in all articulating parts. The grass disperser is mounted on vibration-proof rubbers, it has a special profile to allow better the grass dispersal in demanding situations: the cut grass is taken and dropped to the ground by the action of the wheels allowing easier control when travelling forwards. The blade sections are made of special steel and fixed with 6 mm rivets. The cutter bar’s teeth have a special profile to give a perfect cut and are made from heat treated steel. The blade tensioners are adjustable ensuring constant adherence between blade and teeth. The central cutter bar “Tirol” 115 cm is also available with an oil bath action and adjustable cutting head. The oil bath action reduces maintenance and makes the cutter bar ideal for more intensive and demanding work.

The 117 cm double blade central cutter bar with its action has a mulch cut mode and is fitted with two blades moving in opposite direction. This “scissors like“ cutting action reduces the vibrations considerably on the handlebar when mowing ensuring an optimum quality cut even in the most demanding conditions. Thanks to its characteristics the 117cm double blade central cutter bar is ideal for cutting in rustic areas, fruit orchards or produce grass for animal feed. The grass disperser is mounted on vibration-proof rubbers, it has a special profile to allow better the grass dispersal in demanding situations: the cut grass is taken and dropped to the ground by the action of the wheels allowing easier control when travelling forwards. The high quality blades are made of special heat treated steel; the blade tensioners made of a flexible material to ensure contact between the two blades.

The normal 127 cm central cutter bar, available also in 110 cm width, has a crank action It is the specific cutter bar to obtain grass for animal feed. The crank mechanism is built with high quality steel types and is fitted with grease nipples on all articulating parts. The grass disperser is mounted on vibration-proof rubbers, it has a special profile to allow better the grass dispersal in demanding situations: the cut grass is taken and dropped to the ground by the action of the wheels allowing easier control when travelling forwards. The cutter bar teeth have a special profile to ensure a perfect cut and are built with thermally treated special steel. The blade tensioners are adjustable ensuring constant contact between blade and teeth. For better balance we recommend the use of the 127 cm cutter bar in combination with the Lombardini 15LD350 diesel engine.

The GF3 DF’ s weight distribution has been designed in such way to increase its stability when mowing on slopes. In order to further increase stability on slopes, Grillo has a wheel extension kit to obtain a wider track up to 24 cm, pneumatic wheels with high adherence tyre profile design and a laterally adjustable handlebar.

The GF3 DF’s mechanical transmission with its oil bath gears is located inside an aluminium pressed casing. The levers operated controls for the gears and P.T.O are all easily accessible. The active cone clutch lever controls the drive; once you let go the handlebar the cutter bar will stop with the engine still running. For further safety of the operator, the drive lever is equipped with a double control to avoid any involuntary actons. The double control can be activated with only one hand.

The differential increases the manoeuvrability and, combined with the brakes, makes the Grillo GF3 DF agile also during the manoeuvres on slopes. The two brake drums mounted on the wheels are operated by the two levers on the handlebar and allow alternative braking of respectively one wheel so to improve the turning radius. Apart from that the levers are equipped with a block so to convert the service brakes into parking brakes able to hold the sickle bar tightly even on slopes. The diff-lock is operated by a T-shaped lever on the handlebar and turns out to be indispensable to ensure the straight advancement without any efforts to the GF3 DF.

00-8. In order to produce an even cut, the cutter bar is freely inclinable to allow for any ground undulations. The handlebar is mounted on anti-vibrating rubbers which dampen the vibrations also laterally. The handlebar is laterally adjustable for use on slopes and height adjustable to meet all user requirements. It is also reversible and can be lowered to considerably reduce the machine’s size. All controls are in a comfortable position including the handlebar adjusting levers.
