Grillo GF 3 Sickle Bar

The Grillo GF3 is a perfectly balanced sickle bar; engine and P.T.O. are positioned in such way to obtain the ideal ground clearance for professional mowing even on slopes. The centre of gravity was designed to make the GF3 manoeuvrable and safe even under the most demanding conditions. The 3 gears can all be used whilst mowing. The GF3 is equipped with an active cone clutch, a device which increases the operator’s safety considerably. The Robin Subaru EX27 OHC petrol and Lombardini 15LD350 diesel engine are ideal for professional mowing on slopes. The vast choice of cutter bars allows to fulfil all mowing requirements. The large range of accessories make the GF3 a real multi-purpose machine!

The standard cutter bar is model “Tirol” with a 115 cm cutting width and with crank action. It’s appropriate for cutting all grass types and can be used in rustic areas, fruit orchards or grass for animal feed. The crank mechanism was built with top quality steel and is equipped with greases nipples on all articulating parts. The grass disperser is mounted on vibration-proof rubbers, has a special profile to better grass dispersal in the most demanding situations: the cut grass is taken and dropped on the ground by the action of the wheels allowing easier control when travelling forwards. The blade sections are made of special steel and fixed with 6 mm rivets The cutter bar’s teeth with a special profile to give a perfect cut and are made from heat treated steel. The blade tensioners are adjustable ensuring constant adherence between blade and teeth. The 115 cm cutter bar “Tirol” is available also with oil bath action and adjustable cutting head. The oil bath action reduces maintenance and makes the cutter bar ideal for intensive and demanding work.

The 117 cm double blade central cutter bar with its action has a mulch cut mode and is fitted with two blades running in opposite direction. This “scissor like” cutting action reduces the vibrations on the handlebar when mowing ensuring an optimum quality cut in all conditions. Thanks to its characteristics the central 117 cm double blade cutter bar is ideal for cutting in rustic areas, fruit orchards, or produce grass for animal feed.  The grass disperser is mounted on vibration-proof rubbers, has a special profile to better grass dispersal in the most demanding situations: the cut grass is taken and dropped on the ground by the action of the wheels allowing easier control when travelling forwards. High quality blades are made from heat treated steel and the blade tensioners made of flexible material to ensure contact between the two blades.

The 127 cm normal cutter bar, available also with 110 cm width, has a crank action. It is the specific cutter bar to obtain grass for animal feed. The crank mechanism was built with high quality steel types and is equipped with grease nipples on all articulating parts. The grass disperser is mounted on vibration-proof rubbers, has a special profile to better grass dispersal in the most demanding situations: the cut grass is taken and dropped on the ground by the action of the wheels allowing easier control when travelling forwards. The cutter bar teeth have a special profile for perfect cutting and are made of special heat treated steel. The blade tensioners are adjustable ensuring constant contact between blade and teeth. For better balance we recommend the use of the 127 cm cutter bar in combination with the Lombardini 15LD350 diesel engine.

The GF3’ s weight distribution has been designed to increase its stability when mowing on slopes. In order to further increase the stability Grillo has a wheels extension kit available to enlarge the track up to 24 cm, a highly adherent tyre profile design as well as a laterally adjustable handlebar.

The GF3’s mechanical transmission with its oil bath gears is located inside an aluminium pressed casing. The lever operated controls for the gears and P.T.O. are easily accessible. The active cone clutch lever controls the drive, once you let go of the lever the cutter bar will stop with the engine still running. For further safety of the operator the drive lever is equipped with a double control to avoid any involuntary actions. The double control can be activated with only one hand.

The gearbox has 3 forward and 3 reverse gears of the Grillo GF3 and has been designed to obtain mowing speed ideal for cutting when fitted with the “Tractor” wheels 4.00-8, i.e. 1.1, 2.6 and 4.3 km/h. In order to produce an even cut, the cutter bar to allow for any ground undulations. The handlebar is mounted on vibration-proof rubbers which dampen the vibrations also laterally. The handlebar is laterally adjustable for use on slopes and height adjustable to meet all user requirements. It is also reversible and can be lowered to considerably reduce the machine’s size. All controls are in a comfortable position, handlebar adjusting levers included.

The GF3 is supplied with a Robin Subaru EX27 OHC petrol engine of 8.3 HP or with the Lombardini 15LD350 diesel engine of 7.5 HP. Both engines have recoil start and adopt the latest technical innovation ensuring easy engine starts, reliability, low emissions, reduced consumption, high performance and vibration reduced to the minimum. The Grillo GF3’s engine are designed for the professional use on slopes and are equipped with a rear bumper.

Grillo has a vast accessory range in order to enhance the use of the GF3, such as the 75 cm rotary cutter with blade brake, the 68 cm all purpose flail and for winter use, the 125 cm orientable snow blade as well as the 70 cm two stage snow thrower.
